I tried…some may think I failed..
So as most of you know I went back to work full time when Beckett was 6 weeks old, it was a decision that Tony and I made together. I never imagined not working…or not working full time. The company I work for had great benefits, keyword had. Our deductible almost doubled within 3 weeks of me going back to work. Our retirement plan was cut to nearly nothing the beginning of July. I was heart broken. Surprisingly enough, not about the cuts, but that I had spent so much time away from my sweet baby boy working 12.5 hour shifts an hour from home! This brought up more emotions than I was prepared for. Tony and I sat down and reevaluated our plan. We have managed to make a budget that will work with me becoming a part time working mama. This is a dream come true for me! Please everyone keep our little family in your prayers, this will be a huge adjustment for all of us. So for the past 25 weeks, I tried and I don’t think I failed!
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Yesterday was one of those days where I needed a little something to get me through the day…opened a Bible verse app and this is what I got ;-) We can’t “see” God, but he is always there. The next verse was Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ This made my heart content, Tony and I are going through lots of changes, there are many decisions to be made. These verses reminded me that we are not alone, God is with us, He is writting the music, we are just dancing along!
“We are not the same persons this year as last; nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person.”

Happy 4th of July
You know, its easy to get caught up and forget the meaning behind the holidays we celebrate. Thursday was my last day of work before the 4th of July and all I could think about was hurry up day I need a vacation in my life!!! My very last client of the day was a lovely woman named Jessica. It was the first time I had ever done her waxing and she had been referred to me through a dear client of mine who is a Gold Star wife. For all of you that aren’t familiar with the military a Gold Star wife is a widow who lost her husband fighting for our country. Jessica and I started chatting about what our plans were for the weekend and she mentioned she was going diving. I love to dive! So we had no trouble conversing. I asked if she would be cooking out with friends of family on the 4th and she then said she would be celebrating the 4th the way her husband had always loved to. With fireworks, good friends, the water and of course beer, haha! She then said her husband was killed in Afghanistan in 2009. My heart broke for her. There is nothing you can say to that. So I just shook my head and told her that was awful and I was so sorry! She had the best attitude about her situation. She told me that her children were 1 and 3 when their father died. Now they are 3 and 5. She wants them to know how much their father loved America and loved what he did for our great country. She said they would celebrate this day because so many men and women have fought for our right to be free. So today, enjoy this beautiful day, but don’t forget to remember those who have given so much for us to have this holiday and thank a solider or veteran! God Bless America!
a little catch up..
Life has been extremely busy lately and I have had zero time for tumblr….a lot has been going on that I’m not ready to air, but all is well in our little household! We are now parents of an energetic 6 month old! The 24th of June he turned 6 months and to celebrate, we got shots, lol, he did very well considering. His pediatrician said he is very advanced (I was a proud mama bear) and has met all of the milestones for this age. He was 17.4 lbs and 27.5 inches long! We have now gotten the ok to start fruits and veggies! This is such an exciting time! We are making all of his baby food so we can insure he gets what is best for him. I had no idea I would enjoy preparing baby food, but more on that another time. Tony’s business is doing awesome and we are taking a weeks vacation to celebrate the 4th of July! This will be our first week vacation since 09! We both need a little R & R! I am so excited to be able to share a few pictures of life lately…

You know you are a Mom, when you see a photo like this and think “I hope there are no children in these cars”. This was on my facebook news feed from a local news channel. We have had heavy rains today and some areas are experiencing flooding, this is Chapel Hill, NC.
